About

Hi,
My name is Hernan Santiesteban. I’ve been fishing since I was a kid. I started out in South Florida fishing with my dad for Saltwater species. We would seek out snapper, grouper and mahi to name a few.

I spent many summers in the Florida Keys with my dad and brothers fishing night and day.
Over the following years, I spread out and started fishing for Bass. This consisted mainly of walking the shorelines of local lakes and canals.

In 1984, Peacock Bass were introduced into South Florida waters. I quickly became hooked on them.

Then, I decided to try my hand at competitive bass fishing. I fished my first bass tournament in 1990. It wasn’t a big deal as it was a youth tournament for anglers fishing from shore. I still remember it fondly though.

After discovering kayak fishing, I have reacquainted myself with competitive fishing. I have recently fished some local tournaments in Wisconsin. I’ve also traveled for kayak tournament fishing. This means long drives an campsites.

Overall, I love spending times in the outdoors. It’s a true stress reliever.
